Was that too political?

Like I said at the end of the show, I couldn't let the sad events of the last week pass without paying tribute to Drummer Lee Rigby and indeed everyone who has ever served (or is currently serving) in the UK armed forces. I know quite a few people who have served in the UK army and navy, thankfully they are still here to tell their tales but too many others aren't as lucky.

Here's tonight's playlist:

Loads of local bands tonight

Well I must say that I really enjoyed putting tonight's show together. There's a lot of local talent out there and being able to play some of the music from local bands is a real privilege.

I'm often asked how hard is it put a two hour show together. In all honesty it's not that difficult. The planning is ongoing and if a song pops in to my head during the week that I think my listeners on The Flash will enjoy then I make a note and try and include it. There's always the listener requests to and I try and do a bulk of those every couple of weeks or so.

Here's the playlist from tonight's show:

Livin' on a prayer - Bon Jovi
You shook me all night long - AC/DC

Sunday 3rd March 2013

Hi guys,

This week's show a repeat of last weeks. This was because of some technical hitches that we experienced last Sunday which we felt would have impacted on your enjoyment.

I'll be back next Sunday evening with a brand new show.

Keep on rocking!!

Sunday, 24 February 2013

Without doubt, the best show yet - Requests galore!!

That show was so much fun to produce I don't know how I'm going to top it. I really don't!

Why?

Firstly, the requests. The first hour of the show was dedicated to requests and in never ceases to amaze me the quality of music that the listeners to Flash 1512 ask for. Keep those requests coming in guys, it's what makes the station so unique.

Secondly, the tunes I played in the second hour of the show were so good it kinda leaves me worried that I've peaked too early. Thankfully I don't think that's the case ;o)

Getting in contact with us is easy, simply pick one of the following below:

Here's tonight's playlist. The first twelve songs were listener requests, after that it's music hand-picked by me:

  1. Dead on time - Queen
  2. Immigrant song - Led Zeppelin

Even I'd listen to that one

Well, I'm chuffed with how that one went. Strictly between you and me, the first few shows I did for Flash 1512 were deliberately set up to be crowd pleasers, not that that's a bad thing but I was still finding my way a bit and also to build a rapport with those listening. I guess I felt I had to gain peoples trust and at the same time find my feet. Because I'm still being asked back each week to do more it must be going okay.

The show has changed quite a bit over the months. I'm getting a little self indulgent in what I play whilst at the same time trying to ensure that you, the listener will be entertained. Let me know if you think I'm not getting that balance right. Ultimately it's about what the listener wants, not me but I'd certainly listen to my show if I was listening in for the first time.

If you haven't been over there yet, Flash 1512 has a new website reflecting the recent upgrade to the station's logo as seen below:
